What Causes Bruise In Left Eye Ball?

Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with anterior optic ischaemic neuritis in right eye only. This has now cleared up and eyesight improved by 7 lines of eye chart. Told usually only 2 lines of improvement in 40% cases.The condition cause belived to be medication I was taking for a rotator cuff which due to continuing using it at work developed into frozen shoulder. I stopped the medication and went on to just paracetamol and later on ibuprofen gel so physiotherapist could work on shoulder.Yesterday I noticed the left good eye ball felt bruised. It still feels bruised today.Other than medication and water I haven t eaten or drunk anything in case I need a starvation blood test. Should I phone optitan or gp or opthamologist for an appointment or give it longer to see if it settles down? kind regards mrs Probert

Hello,

You are suggested to see an ophthalmologist at the earliest. It is always better to get treated at the earliest, do not wait for further complications to develop.

Bruise can be due to vascular ischemia, shock due to orbital impact, some developing hemorrhage, etc.

Neglect can cause serious vision-threatening complications. Get treated at the earliest.
