What Causes Brown Spots In The Groin Area?

I am having brown spots on my pubic region, and i shaved around 4 months ago, and i just decided to shave again but i notices 6 brown spots, i am 100% positive that its not an std, but am concerned if it can cause problems in the future, the spots not flaky and doesn t itch or anything please help me of what it can be, and what can it cause, and if i should be alarmed about this problem, and if i can treat it, or help it go away.

Hi,

1. The brown spots which you have mentioned are because of the shaving you are doing, which is removing the hair and possible infection of the hair follicle resulting in Folliculitis and which in turn heals with a dark brown spot.

2. You need to worry as it will heal on its own.

3. If you have itching or seeing any discharge around it then you can just apply Mupirocin ointment over it.
