What Causes Brown Discharge With Spasms In Abdomen After Hysterectomy?

Hello I am 53 years old i have a pain in my lower abdomin I have seen a gynocoligist for a discharge i have had for over a year I had a hysterectomy in 2008 complete the discharge i have is brown in color sometimes mucusy it just leaks out sometimes it feels like im having muscle spasms in my lower abdomin i cannot get any answers from anybody but there has to be a reason for a brown dicharge.

Hi,
In the current scenario, you need to have a speculum exam to observe the vaginal vault to see if there is any abnormality there. A swab should also be taken to rule out infections and colposcopy can be done to check for vault lesions. If ovaries have been retained, hormone imbalance secondary to perimenopause and menopause should also be suspected. A sonogram through the vagina can help in noting the status of the pelvic organs. Urinalysis should also be done to exclude infection. Hope this helps.
