What Causes Brown Discharge, Nausea, Breast Tenderness After Using Birth Control?

I had unprotected sex like a week before getting the shot. This is my first time using birth control, I ve been on this birth control for about a month now, I haven t gotten my period for about 2 months now... I haven t used any back up since the shot. When I wake up and at times I get really bad breast tenderness.. I had Unprotected sex last night. This morning I had a brown discharge, I thought I was going to get my period... I guess it was just spotting. I get really nauseous at very random times especially every morning. Should I be worried ?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

Nausea and breast tenderness are common side effects of taking a birth control pill. The mild spotting can also be related to hormonal changes due to the pill. Nothing to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rakhi Tayal, OBGYN
