What Causes Brown And Watery Diarrhea?

Hi, for the past 6-9 months I have started having diarrhoea problems 2-3 times a week.. This is light brown and very watery.. I have never had any problems like this in the past; maybe the odd occasion. I have been to doctors for blood tests and everything was fine.. This is getting more regular now. Mostly happens when in middle of eating tea time food? Any advice would be grateful.. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Chronic diarrhea can have different possible causes such as: (1) irritable bowel syndrome
(2)infection
(3)inflammatory bowel disease
(4)food intolerance or allergy
(5)endocrine causes such as hyperthyroidism or diabetes

Stool tests and imaging of the abdomen would be needed to determine the exact cause of the problem.
Imaging would likely be in the form of colonoscopy or barium enema.

I hope this helps
