What Causes Bronchospasms While On Cyclobenzaprine Post Back Surgery?

I am taking cyclobenzaprrcqrime 10 mg following back surgery. I have experienced two episodes of bronchospasms when trying to eat I could breathe but after I swallowed my food, is felt like it was lodged somewhere and neither could I get it up or down. In desperation, I ran my finger down my toat and dislodged a large amount of mucus (the size of an egg) which relieved the pressure. What a horrible experience

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Difficulty in swallowing is due to esophagitis. It is a very common condition and it is happening due to hyperacidity, gastritis and it can be drug induced also. Hence, it is not advisable to put the finger inside the throat, this can cause the serious trauma. You won't be able to know anything with self-examination but may cause panic attacks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
