What Causes Bright Red Vaginal Bleeding While Having Urinary Infection?

I m 7 days late for my period,a few symptoms indicative of pregnancy and diagnosed with a Urine infection yesterday and have taken antibiotics. Had a bleed this evening, bright red in colour. No pain, initially was a bit but is now hardly anything. Can a urine infection cause these problems? I had no symptoms of infection and dr just about picked it up.

Hi,

If you have diagnosed by urine culture sensitivity then good.

Bleeding vagina can be due to
urinary tract infection
due to products of conception
vaginal infection
cervical polyp
Bleeding disorders
mensural bleed.

Ultrasound pelvis will help you diagnose.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. S.R.Raveendran, Sexologist
