What Causes Breathlessness, Swollen Throat And Tingling Sensation In Hands?

My 11 year old daughter is having difficulty breathing saying that her throat is swollen. Next she complained of tingling hands. She wants to go to the doctor because she thinks her throat is going to swell so much it will close. Her hands were shaking and she said it s hard to open and close them. What is this?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have breathlessness, swollen throat and tingling sensation in hands. The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to throat infection and can be due to bacterial or viral infection , allergic reaction or side effects of certain medicine . But it seems to me that the symptoms are probably due to viral infection . The sensations you are experiencing along with swelling at the back of throat seems to be due to inflammation in throat. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen. Do warm saline gargles or sip on warm water and take a soft diet. Doctor may also refer you to allergy specialist .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
