What Causes Breathlessness, Swollen Face And Persistent Headache Even After Septoplasty?

Hello doctor, Recently, i was suffering from breathing trouble was unable to breathe freely even after taking the medicine. I then got it diagnosed by a specialist and he said that my nose bone is tilted and i should go for septoplasty. I followed his advice and my breathing problem almost got finished. But now i am continuously facing some breathing trouble and still i cant breathe freely from my left nostril as compared to my right nostril and i am also facing 24*7 headache in a lil amount and my face has swollen a bit . Sometimes the headache increases and therefore i am unable to concentrate on studies or any other work. What should i do?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain the symptoms seems more consistent with Sinus infection known as Sinusitis and it may be a potent cause for all the symptoms that you are facing..
I would therefore suggest you to consult an OTOLAYNGOLOGIST and get evaluated so that he can do a visual clinical examination and do necessary investigations like PNS view x-ray and Nasal Endoscopy as per the requirement..
If it is due to sinusitis antibiotics like Augmentin and metronidazole, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine [sudafed], saline nasal sprays, steam inhalations and using a humidifier in your room can be advised..

As of now you can do steam inhalations, use humidifier in your room and use saline nasal sprays as these can provide symptomatic relief.
For headache Ibuprofen can be taken..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
