What Causes Breathing Difficulty While Suffering From GERD?
Hello, I have been diagnosed with GERDs and Barrettes Esophagitis. The last endoscopy was clear on the Barrett s. I take prescription strength Nexium for the Gerds. I m a runner and I am having trouble breathing when I workout and run now. This started almost exactly after the Gerds became problematic. Could it be related? I m not sure which doctor to see. The pulmonary dr. Thinks it s exercised induced asthma, and at first I agreed it sounded right, albeit coincidental. But the inhaler doesn t help. Today I ran and it actually felt like the airway was restricted or small. I had to cut my run in half. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you! Joyce
For your GERD you have to consult a gastroenterologist. You may require endoscopy for the confirmation of GERD. GERD is treatable with few months of course and it is mostly associated with nutritional deficiency which leads to anemia. Have you got your hemoglobin checked? Anemia is one of the major reasons for fatigue and difficulty breathing. In your case anemia can be the problematic cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
