What Causes Bowel Incontinence In Sleep?

my daughter passed stool in her pants at night and she was totally unaware about it. Is this due to her being in deep sleep and v tired or otherwise. Pl aswere. This is the first time such a thing has happened. Once a year maybe she passed urine in the same manner. She is 20 years old.

Hello dear , hi

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* Reason for bowel passage in sleep may be

- loaded colon - too much pressure over pelvic part via sleeping in
prone position - severe stress or anxiety at subcouncious level -
actual visualisation of passing stool in dream and doing it
unknowingly during sleep ( this sounds unusual but it can happen
for sure ) .

Hope this clears your query .
Regards .
