What Causes Bone Pain In The Upper Portion Of The Tibia?

I keep having bone pain in the upper portion of the tibia. I have not been in an accident, or fallen. I have a 3 year history of breast cancer. I am 66 year old female morbidly obese, and am in the process of going to a bariatric surgeon for a gastric sleeve, after being cleared by my personal care physician. Family history includes 4 types of cancer.

Hello,

Bone metastasis is a possibility. The best option in this case will be a bone scan. Through bone scan we can detect tiny architectural changes which are not usually detected by other modalities like X-ray or CT scan. As of now you can take analgesics like Tramadol or paracetamol for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
