What Causes Bone Cement Leaking In Veins Post Kyphoplasty?
My sister has had 7 kyphoplasty surgeries in the last 2 months due to overuse of steroids/COPD. She was put into ICU 2 days ago for chronic pain and was told the bone cement had leaked into some veins. The doctors have seen leakage in the smaller veins and say will 'regrow'. But there was leakage into the aorta which they said they have never seen or experienced. They are simply observing her and managing pain. What should the family do?
