What Causes Body Pain, Nausea And Swollen Lymph Node In The Neck?

My son is 23, has had what appeared to be upper respiratory symptoms that started saturday night. Today has had chills, body aches, nausea, was just complaining of feeling overheated and has started vomiting. He has been in bed most of the day. He also has a swollen lymph gland on his neck.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Neck lymph nodes are usually enlarged due to local infection in respiratory tract. These nodal swellings usually take time to resolve completely even after clearance of infection.
Advice
1.     Cefixime (tablet Taxim – O)100 mg every 12 hours per oral daily for 7 days
2.     Paracetamol 500 mg orally if fever is more than 98 degree Fahrenheit. You can repeat every 6 hours
3.     Bed rest until resolution of fever
4.     Cold fomentation if fever is more than 100 degree Fahrenheit
5.     Domperidone 10 mg per oral when he feels nausea & vomiting
6.     Investigation – CBC, Widal test, blood smear for malaria parasite, ESR
7.     Consult a general physician for further follow up
Thanks
