Hi,
Bleeding after sex is known as postcoital bleeding. It can occur in people of all ages. Postcoital bleeding may come from the vaginal walls, cervix, urethra or vulva. However, postcoital bleeding is more likely to be caused by some common conditions such as infections like
pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), sexually Transmitted infection (STI),
cervicitis or vaginitis etc,
vaginal dryness dude to having intercourse before you are fully aroused, douching, feminine hygiene products or certain medications, polyps on the cervix or in the endometrial lining of the uterus, vaginal tearing due to vigorous sexual activity, cervical or
vaginal cancer, genitourinary syndrome of menopause etc. Several steps may be taken to determine the source like
transvaginal ultrasound, pap smear, urine test, vaginal or urethral swab for C/S, examination of vagina and cervix by colposcope etc. The cause of post coital bleeding will determine the treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
