General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As a physician I would like to tell you that the blood in sputum is a serious cause of concern. According to your history, it may arise from food pipe, wind pipe or from your lungs. All these conditions are pretty serious because continuous blood loss would lead to conditions like anemia. Thus I would suggest that you should visit a physician as soon as possible to get examined and evaluated to determine the exact cause of your hemoptysis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
