Hello and welcome,

Bright red color blood on a toilet after a stool is highly suggestive of hemorrhoids (piles). Please, do not worry. Hemorrhoids are very common condition and have favorable outcome.
Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the lower rectum. It was probably caused by straining during defecation. There are two types of hemorrhoids: internal and external. Internal hemorrhoids are painless and appear as bright red rectal bleeding when defecating. External hemorrhoids do not bleed but painful. You probably have internal hemorrhoids. The diagnosis is confirmed by a doctor during the rectal exam.
Mild hemorrhoids are treated with diet and life style modifications. You should increase the amount of fiber in your diet along with adequate intake of fluids. Eat more fresh fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds. Exercise regularly to stimulate your bowel movements. Use toilet as soon as you feel the urge without waiting. But avoid prolonged sitting or straining.

I hope the above information will be helpful for you. Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.

Thank you,
Malik Amonov MD
