What Causes Blood In Stool While Suffering From Diarrhea?

I was taking DOXYCYC MONO 100 MG TAB LANN due to a bad sinus infection, and finished the medicine last night. For the last 3 days, I have had diarrhea after eating, and today I had bright red blood in my diarrhea stool. I did see that a side effect was diarrhea, but what can cause the blood? Is it for going to the restroom too much?

Bright red blood in stools is due to bleeding near or around anus.It may be due to anal fissures/haemorrhoids/diverticulitis.
Diarrhea with bright red blood may be due to infected haemorrhoids.

Doxycylcine can be associated with causing diarrhea as side effect.This diarrhea may have have excaberated underlying anal problems mentioned above.

If I were your treating doctor,I recommend,
-Taking probiotics orally to help aid growth of intestinal bacteria if diarrhea is due to doxycycline.
-Visit to surgeon so that underlying anal problems can be evaluated.
Anal fissure needs surgical anal dilatation procedures.Treatment of haemorrhoids depend on degree of prolapse.
