Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a hysterectomy in March this year, 6 months ago. Today while having a bowel movement I notices my poo had some bright red in them. Could this be a cause from that, or probably something else? It was much more than usual and I now am pretty sure that it is blood.
No, it’s not related to your hysterectomy. Sometimes blood comes if stools are quite harder then normal and it can tear the mucosal membrane which can result in bleeding as you said it was fresh (bright red) blood. So I suggest you not to worry about it, take green and healthy vegetables and fresh fruits.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
