What Causes Blisters Around A Burn Wound On The Leg?

Hello, so about a week ago i had burned my leg pretty good. Possible 2nd degree. about 1 x3 wound. We got to healing right away and the past couple days it is seemingly better with some blisters but letting it get air. Today my leg seems to be really achy, is this just part of the healing? color or size haven t changed but wondered about the ache. Almost equivalent to a dehydration ache. thank you!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The blister is secondary to fluid collection following burns, which may present at a later stage after the event.

The ache is due to stretching and irritation of underlying nerve endings via scar tissue.

Definite treatment with a sterile dressing, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs will help to recover faster.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
