What Causes Bleeding Through Ear After A Dental Check Up?

I got water stuck in my ear which naturally made my ear hurt so I just ignored it. I checked my ear with a cotton swab and I went deep trying to get the water out. Next day I went to the dentist and the dentist numbed the left side of my face and it numbed my ear. So I checked my ear again and there is blood on the cotton swab this time. Whats wrong?

Hello,
You most likely have a puncture and infection in your ear. The infection is draining. You need antibiotics prescribed. Usually, this will heal with medication. This is not from your dental treatment. Water sitting in the ear causes an infection commonly called swimmer's ear. Please don't stick anything deep into your ear. Cotton tips should be used gently. See your physician or Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for diagnosis, treatment and relief.
Avoid getting your ear wet. Sime Antiinflammitory medication such as Tylenol or Advil may help decrease discomfort until you see the doctor.
Thank you for your inquiry. I hope you feel better soon.
