What Causes Bleeding, Pain And Pile Of Thin Hairs Leaking Out Of Belly Button?

Hi I've been having pain in my belly button for at least 2 weeks now. Every day it bleeds and tonight I noticed that a hair was sticking out, I pulled the hair out and a pile of thin hairs stuck together came out. A dirty smell usually comes from my belly button too, could you please tell me what it is? Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Bleeding from button belly that is umbilicus with typical smell and hair tuft indicate that you have a pilonidal sinus.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Clean the umbilicus with hydrogen peroxide and liquid povidone iodine.
Consult a General Surgeon for clinical evaluation and thus get an appointment for surgery.
You need a proper preoperative preparation, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory coverage, multivitamins.
Get operated as there is no medication for such a disease.
