What Causes Bleeding In Tongue Of A 7 Month Baby?

Hi my nephew has a bleeding tongue, under his tongue really, the ER said might be an ulcer.. hes only 7 months old, what can we do to try to stop him from messing with it so it can heal before it turns into something more serious? The pediatrician and ER Dr. didnt tell us anything...

Hi...a 7 month old with a bleeding from underneath the tongue could initially be due to an injury. Ulcer cannot cause constant bleeding like this. I suggest working up for a bleeding disorder.
If I were your pediatrician I would suggest doing -
1. Complete blood count.
2. Prothrombin time
3. Partial Thromboplastin time.
We can proceed based on the above tests results.
