What Causes Bleeding During Pregnancy?

hello... I am 5 weeks pregnant & started with spotting 2days back. it was a pink discharge which is now proper bleeding. the doctor can still see the sack & heard a faint heartbeat. I have been prescribed duphaston 3 times in a day. However, the doctor also suggests that the growth is not as healthy but the sack is still there. any idea what can happen?

Hi,
The fingers are crossed at this stage and you need to wait for a couple more weeks to see how the pregnancy turns. Meanwhile, please take absolute bed rest, avoid lifting weights and all types of stress including intercourse. Continue with the hormone supplement. A repeat trans-vaginal sonogram after another week or two along with serial serum beta-hCG titres will help in guiding the management. Good progress of pregnancy can be predicted if the titres double every 2-3 days; else, they decline. Hope this helps.
