What Causes Bleeding Continuously Like Regular Menstruation?

I had my menstrual 2 weeks ago for the month then I stopped for 3 days. Then I started back bleeding again as I would as a regular period. I am getting worried because I have never bled this long before. My mom tells me that I may have fibroids but I don t know if I can get them at the age I am. I am only in my early 20s

Hello,

Firstly, fibroids can occur at any age but need not always cause menstrual disturbances.

Secondly, since you have developed the disturbance for the first time, you have to contact your health care provider, get the routine monitoring, observe if the disturbance settles naturally, or if the bleeding persists, take expert help.

Styptics can help reduce the bleeding. After proper evaluation, hormones may be added if necessary for a couple of cycles. Maintain a healthy weight and a healthy diet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam
