What Causes Blackening At The Corner Of The Eyes?

Hi - the last couple of days I had a pretty big swelling (looked like a puffy bag ) under my left eye - it felt sore around the socket the last couple of days - the puffiness eventually went down. About an hour ago, I noticed that both eyes appear to be blackening - on the inside of the eye, near the bridge of my nose. Should I be worried about this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The blackening of the inside of the eye which involve conjunctiva should not be considered as normal and the same can be due to the autoimmune process of cell damage, secondary to bacterial or viral infection or else.

Kindly consult the nearest ophthalmologist for best evaluation of the case and prevent any detrimental side effect of the current issue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
