What Causes Black Urine Output?

My father went into Renal failure but is stabilized. I was told his Bilirubin count is now at 15 two days ago it was 12.4 yester day it jumped to 13.6 today it is 15.2...I am afraid his liver is completely failing and his Kidneys are soon to follow as they are working hard to catch up. His urine looks like black coffee I am scared.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if the question of kidney and live are there then value of creatinine and SGPT would be matter of concern and not the bilirubin, along with that other test may be very necessary like imaging studies like CT or MRI and Ultrasonography, hope this information may helps, take care and have a nice day.
