What Causes Black Spots On The Tongue Of A Teenager?
Sir/Madam. My daughter had some black spots on her left inner surface of her tongue when she was 3 years old.Now she is 16 years.I recently noticed them spreading bigger. And ablck spot appeared at the tip of the surface of the tongue.Let me know if there is any remedy to this?Is this normal? Will they spread oall over the tongue? Please advise.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain black spots over the tongue that is present since childhood can be due to hyperpigmentation and needs not to be due to some serious disorder..
Secondly it can also be due to other causes like bacterial or fungal growth over the tongue, poor hygiene, pigmentation caused by any medicatin etc..
But to confirm the exact cause consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like biopsy can help in confirmation of cause and will be treated accordingly..
As of now use a tongue scraper to clean the tongue, gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water and drink plenty of water..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
