What Causes Black Spots On The Cervix Of The Vagina?
Hi I just had a transvaginal ultrasound due to missing my last two periods. I am confirmed not pregnant through urine and blood tests. While the ultrasound was going on, the tech was measuring what looked like black circles on my cervix. I asked her what she was measuring and she said the doctors will know and tell you. I know I need to wait for the results but I just want and need to know what those could possibly be? Is it something bad? Something that will prevent me from having kids on the near future? Thank you
From your description I am of the opinion that You are having cervical endometriosis, if it is not bleeding or causes abnormal bleeding during periods, it does not need much treatment.
Pap smear should be performed. It is benign lesions, don't worry. In case of abnormal bleeding, superficial cauterization can be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
