General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are having sudden blackouts foe 2-3 seconds. Vascular events affecting important structures in the visual pathway are likely to cause such symptoms. Medical conditions that can cause sudden blackout of vision may be indicative of migraine, increased intracranial pressure, retinal vascular occlusion, optic neuropathy, embolic disease (stroke), retinal detachment, etc.

Get clinically examined by an eye specialist / ophthalmologist, may be it is visual migraine that passes in 10-20 minutes. The vision and brain are very sensitive to blood flow and oxygen levels in the blood, orthostatic hypotension may also cause such symptoms. Keep hydrated, take fluids and water. Caution when standing. Get treated at the earliest. Stay away from addictions, smoking , drugs, alcohol, etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
