What Causes Bitter Taste Around Mouth While Taking Ibuprofen And Progesterone?

Twice in the last 2 weeks I have had a very bitter taste on my lips and around my mouth and other skin areas. This first time it went away after 24 hours. It has returned and I tasted the skin on my arm and tasted the same bitter taste. I have not been around any strong chemicals or take any meds besides ibuprofen once in a while and I wear an estrogen patch and take a progesterone pill once daily.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Bitter taste around mouth indicates alterations in the saliva secretions from hormone medications in form of Progesterone most likely. However, you need a detailed discussion with your doctor for the further work up in this matter and get necessary guidelines of management to cover the altered taste sensation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
