What Causes Bed Wetting In Sleep?

Im a 27 yr old female and often have dreams about urinating, only to wake up to find that i have wet the bed. apparently this also happens to my father at times. is this something i have inherited. what management strategies are there to prevent this from happening? and why do dreams always accompany the bedwetting? thanks.

The underlying cause is stress, anxiety related in majority of the cases with very few cases of organic reason.
