What Causes Bad Smell From The Ears?

hey how are you doing. I wanted to ask you a question about my ears. There is a bad smell that comes from my ears and its been years and haven t been treated for it although i been in the hospital for a week because of a bad ear infection. Now basically since middle school and i am now 24 its been happening and its starting to really bug me because its like i can t do anything about it can you please give me any info on what i should do ?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of bad smell from the ears which could be due to accumulation of ear wax, ear infection, foreign body penetration in ear and could be due to sinus infection. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to take proper course of antibiotic Ciprofloxacin for 5 days. You should take proper rest. Try to avoid use of any sharp instrument and maintain cleanness of ear canal. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit Otolaryngologist once and get evaluated and start treatment after proper prescription. Get all the lab tests done and examination with otoscope. You should put Otogesic ear drops 3-4 times a day.
