What Causes Backache And Delayed Periods Other Than Pregnancy?
Hi, my girlfriend took morning after pills twice last month and her period is due 9 days ago and it hasnt come down yet and she s having a back ache since then. we ve did pregnancy test yesterday and it turns out shes not pregnant. but why is her period delayed and why is she having backache? help please thank you

The use of the morning after pill can alter the menstrual cycle in some women so it is possible that this the reason for the delay.
Pregnancy tests can detect pregnancy by day 11 to 14 after conception so if the test was done at or after this time then it is accurate. If it was done before this time then it may need repeating.
Some of the other causes of delay are: (1)emotional stress or illness
(2) high levels of the hormone prolactin
(3)physical illness or stress
(4)abnormal levels of thyroid hormone
(5)inadequate diet
