Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Birth control is a way for men and women to prevent
pregnancy. There are many different methods of birth control. Taking pills is a way of
hormonal contraception. Women take the pill to prevent pregnancy, and, when taken correctly, it is up to 99.9% effective and hence it is preferred over other methods.
Some of the side effects caused due to intake of birth control pills include:
Nausea, Weight gain, Sore or swollen breasts,
Spotting between periods, Lighter periods, Abdominal cramps, Decreased sex drive and Mood changes.
Some of these effects are the ones you are experiencing.
Since it is early stages, it takes some time for your body to get adjusted to hormone levels. Slowly these symptoms should subside and normalize. You can take supportive or symptomatic treatment to counter them.
In case it does not subside for long and continues to increase and bother you much, you need to stop using it and choose another method suitable for you for contraception.
Hope the information provided is useful.
All the best.
