What Causes Anxiety And Irregular Heartbeat While On Macrobid?

i have been taking macrobid 2x a day for 4 1/2 days now and each evening i am anxious and uneasy. feels like my heart is beating weird, yet pulse feels regular. i get so anxious i cant sleep and have even had to take an anxiety pill to get through the evening without feeling like losing control. tums also helps this morning i forgot to take it and so far i have felt great. now i took the med and i am interested to see what happens. i do have a tendency to get anxious about medications side effects, so i realize i may have a preconceived idea that i am going to get anxious. do you have any input? i am supposed to take it for a total of 7 days for UTI of E.Coli.

Hello,

If you have any allergic reactions, it may develop within 1-2 hours after ingestion. It may not cause palpitations and anxiety. It can be given in pregnancy also.

So, it may be due to caffeine your alcohol consumption or anemia or anxiety. Please get checked for blood pressure, ECG and then consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
