What Causes Anxiety And Breathing Difficulty After Taking Sudafed?

Hello, my Dr. Prescribed 12 hour sudafed as well as cough syrup with codeine in it. I m having serious anxiety, breathing problems, twisting my tongue, tremors, etc...I quit taking both after 5:00 a.m. This morning. How serious are these side effects and how long until they go away? This is completely miserable!

Common side effects of Sudafed include:
nervousness,
restlessness or excitability (especially in children),
dizziness,
headache,
fear,
anxiety,
loss of appetite,
sleep problems (insomnia),

Codeine is a opiate and may cause sedation, vomiting sensation and constipation.

Duration of action of Sudafed:

Tablets, oral solution, and syrup—3 to 4 hours.

Extended-release capsules and tablets—8 to 12 hours.

Codeine and its salts are absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract and onset of analgesic action occurs 30 to 45 minutes after administration, when given orally. Peak effect is reached within 1 to 2 hours and the duration of analgesic and antitussive action are 4 hours and 4 to 6 hours respectively.

So by now you would have cleared both the drugs.
