What Causes Anger And Mood Swings Despite Taking Neurontin?

My Psychologist said I am going in a manic mood, they have put me also on Neurontin. I am now experiencing a lot of anger and I am on Prednisone for a virus, and had previously had a shot of Cortisone for an allergy infection. I felt really good, but not tonight! No I will not pay anything for an answer.....

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi sorry to hear about your problem.
Lets discuss some basic concepts. Mania can be an event without any identifiable cause but in some cases some initiating stressors can be identified. In your case one the stressor that i can identify is use of steroids. Steroids can cause or provoke an event of psychosis. But to find exact events , a serious of history taking sessions would be required. So my advice at the point is Talk to your doctor to weigh the prescription of steroids with its side effects and if possible they can be stopped. Stay in touch with your psychologist/psychiatrist for management of the complaints of aggression, anger etc. Hoping these few points may help you. Wishing you best of health.
Regards.
