What Causes An Open Wound With White Centre Post Removal Of Cyst?
Thanks you; about 3 weeks agi had a cyst cut out of my left breast, on the underside; taking antibiotics and using cream, but now it s milky white inside with a bright red ring around it; hurts only a little; about size of a nickel What is happening, please? Lynn
Hello. I have gone through your question and understand your concern. The white material is slough or dead tissue and the red border is healing or granulation tissue. Use of antibiotics prevents reinfection and aids the process of healing by preventing unwanted microbe growth. But for the cyst to heal completely the dead or white tissue must be cleared to show the red tissue which will fill and heal the wound. Aseptic dressing at nearby hospital or GP will help. Continue the antibiotics and add a daily dose of vitamin C to fasten the process of healing. Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
