Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Early this morning I had bad reflux which woke me up. Then I felt nauseus and had pain in my chest. After about a half an hour the pain and the nausea went away. I then slept about three hours straight. should I be concerned about angina or heart attack? I am a 72 year old woman who has colitus. I take a statin for chloresteral
Dear acid reflux itself can cause chest pain but you make sure that pain is not arising due to cardiac problem. myocardial infraction or angina pain may present like this only. other conditions like pleuracy, pneumonia, costocondritis and muscle problem may present like this.
please consult your doctor and get it done ECG, upper GI scopy and ultrasound. Because age itself is a risk factor for your problem. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.
take care
