What Causes Abnormalities In The Nail Growth?

Hi. I just noticed that my cuticles (and the white moon) are sinking. This is creating a divet in my nails. Why would this happen? I am on several medications, 39, white female. My nails are very healthy with the exception of a few that curve down slightly at the tips. Could this be a sign of something elsewhere in my body?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having nail changes due to iron and b12 deficiency.
My treatment advice is -
1. Take good nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables and milk.
2. Take an iron supplement and vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months.
3. Other treatment options are topical steroid, injectable vitamin b12 given only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
