I had An aphib event in December. I had tests done and nothing except an irregularity in my ekg.. so I was started on amiridione. After about 4 months and no other events I was put on multaq. This caused bad diarrhea so I stopped taking it. Called my doc for advice and he set me up for an appointment with an electrical heart Specialists. I have never had any heart problems before. I have never smoked. I eat healthy and am not overweight. What can I expect with this appointment?
Atrial fibrillation can occur due to various reashons. There neednot be any preceeding heart disease for the diagnosis of same. Electrolyte abnormalities and even excessive alcahol intake can lead to afib.So meet your cardiologist and he will evaluate you in detail and just rule out any cardiac cause.
