What Causes Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding?

I haven t had a period since February but for the past few weeks I have been experiencing bleeding after sex as well as masturbation without penetration. The bleeding lasts for days and involves cramps and frequent bowel movement. I am on the depo shot and in the past I ve stopped receiving the shot due to my period lasting for months. Is this something involving the birth control?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Irregular periods and bleeding after intercourse can be due to local lesions in cervix or vagina including cervical cancer . I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated including pap smear and get properly treated.
It isunlikely to the previous depo shots.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
