What Causes Abnormal Smelling Stools?

I am an insulin dependent type-22 diabetic. Am in stage 5 renal disease (caused when a previous dr. Left me on 1,000 mg of ibuprofen for over a year.) Taking coumaden for life following 2nd pulmonary embolism when the greefield filter (permanent) failed following a T-bone accident when another driver ran a red light. Recently I have been noticing a musty, almost mildew smell, associated with my bowel movements. Should I be alarmed?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Note the history of you being diabetic type 2, stage 5 renal disease due to Ibuprofen, taking coumadin due to pulmonary embolism, as the greefield filter failed following Tibia Fracture, now smelling musty almost mildew stools, wants to know whether to worry or not...
Siince ytou have so many complication having such a smelly stool is a worry.
I would advise you the following:
Get the blood, urine and stool checked to see if all the parameters are normal or not.
If there is any deviation from the normal ranges that you have, please get corrected under the care of your Specialists.
If there is an infection of the intestinal tract, you need to take an appropriate antibiotic.
