Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The drugs wear off fast. But damage to liver or dead bowel will still be there and pain from it gets worse and these are very life threatening AND also easily diagnosed. So, a regular doctor visit if it can be gotten faster than an ER visit (it can with my patients vs the local hospitals) then that would likely be good enough, otherwise prompt care places or hospital is needed to get immediate diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman
