What Causes Abdominal Pain While On Birth Control Pills For Irregular Menstruation?

Hi I just recently been having problems with my period and hadn t had it for 9 months without being due to pregnancy ! Well I finally come on my menstual in the month of April but didn t end till May ! Well In May I ve decided that s it s time to see a gynecologist and I did ! She didn t check me for anything but she prescribed me birth control to make my periods normal for three months because my fiancé and I are trying to conceive ! Well I ve been on them for a week and the third or fourth day taking them I had been having abdominal pain off and on everyday like clock work ! I have NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON ! I started taking birth control immediately like she insisted so it was my last day of menstrual ! I m not due to another period until next month on the 5th

Hi,

It is essential to have a normal ovulating period for conception. The three months contraceptives would help you to attain that. The pain you have seems to be due to hyperacidity following the pill. You can try Tab. Ranitidin 150 mg twice a day. Eat bland diet in small & repeated 3 hrly servings. Avoid taking pill on empty stomach take it with a cup of cold milk.
