My husband is having acute pain in his abdomen. It started in the middle of the night . He had the dry heaves and tried drinking a little coke but that didnt help and only wound up bringing up what little he drank. This has occurred once before about 2 months ago. Any thoughts.

Hi,

Where is the abdominal pain? Mean which quadrant of abdomen? Is he alcoholic or hypertensive? or Diabetic? Possible causes are like peptic ulcer disease or alcoholic gastritis or pancreatitis or cystitis, etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Please get it done ultrasound abdomen and blood examination for serum amylase and lipase. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
