What Causes Abdominal Pain Along With Nausea And Shortness Of Breath?

Hello, My 17yr old son is complaining of stomach pain, nausea (has not vomited yet), shortness of breath and muscle weakness. We stopped while on our way home from shopping at a local Wendys and as soon as he ate he did say he was starting to feel unwell. I looked up symptoms of food poisoning and some of his symptoms match but like I said he has not vomited yet. Do you suggest taking him to the ED? It has been about 8 hrs since he ate and started feeling unwell. Thank you! Heather

Hello. Your son might be having gastritis or acid peptic disease. He needs to follow some lifestyle tips

1. Do not eat spicy food
2. Take medications for gastritis- pantop/omez/rantac
3. Take little food at frequent intervals. Breakfast around 8am, small snack at 11am, lunch at 1pm, small snack at 4pm and dinner at 8pm
4. Drink plenty of water
5. Do not smoke, take alcohol or tobacco and even excess of coffee and tea
6. Do not take much of stress. Stress aggravates gastritis
7. Do regular exercise. Atleast half an hour per day
8. Learn meditation techniques
9. Follow this regularly for 21 days. It is said that anything you practice regularly for 21 days becomes a habit
