What Causes Abdominal Pain Along With Bloating And Vomiting?

Hi Doctor! I had an abdominal sharp pain, with gas, cold sweat and vomiting. Every time I had the sharp pain, I vomited and cold sweat. It lasted for 24 hour and disappear leaving inflammation and gas. I could not eat for 24 hour or have cold drinks like juice, soda or water. I just had small amount of water with sodium bicarbonate or ginger ale. Now I am alright . Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The episodes of sharp pain, bloating, and vomiting could be due to:
• Overeating with sedentary lifestyle and lack of exercise hampers digestion.
• Faulty eating habits with fast food, no salad, vegetables, and fruits, eating refined food without fibers, and drinking less water, all of these cause constipation, excessive gas, and the symptoms.
• Food allergies (lactose or gluten allergy).
• Intestinal infection or infestations.
Gallbladder problems/deficiency of digestive enzymes.
• Having small and multiple servings of food with balanced diet containing sufficient fibers, vitamins, proteins, and carbohydrates, drinking plenty of water (12 glasses in a day ), regular exercises for 45 minutes a day, and avoid sleeping immediately after eating helps to improve digestion.

In case there is no relief in couple pf weeks then you should see a gastroenterologist for pin pointing the cause and specific management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
