Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Abdominal Cramps During Intercourse Post Lletz Procedure?
I had a Lletz procedure 13/02/15 (England) local anaesthetic, for CIN3 after first smear. I m 24 and was previously having unprotected sex with boyfriend often. Only waited 2 weeks after the Lletz and have since continued having intercourse most days. We do want a baby. I had very little bleeding after the treatment and nothing for the last 10 days but just now wiped slight pink tinge after urinating. Also felt slightly tight and had a few very mild twinges in abdominal area for a few days. We had sex a few hours ago. Should I be worried? Could I be pregnant?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
It is not recommended to have intercourse for at least four weeks after a Lletz procedure to allow the cervix to heal. The cramps you are experiencing during intercourse may be due to the healing process or scarring from the procedure. The pink tinge you saw after urination could be due to irritation from intercourse or a sign of vaginal bleeding.
It is possible to become pregnant after a Lletz procedure, but it is important to wait until your doctor has given you the all-clear before trying to conceive. If you are experiencing persistent or severe abdominal pain, bleeding, or other symptoms, it is recommended to speak with your doctor to ensure proper healing and rule out any complications.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
